Classic Vito

Michael Hanna’s St. Vito Focacceria isn’t exactly new. Centered on the former Catbird Seat and Rolf and Daughters chef’s remarkable sfincione pizzas, St. Vito has hopped around in a variety of locations over the past few years, sharing kitchens on both the East Side and the West Side. But this year Hanna finally set up a shop of his own right in the middle of the city, where his full-time brick-and-mortar establishment St. Vito Focacceria is already working absolute wonders. In addition to the always-superb sfincione (don’t sleep on the potato sfincione, or the Classic Vito), Hanna has been riffing on stracciatella, pastas, salads and a whole lot more — with great success. Throw in decadent desserts created with former Catbird Seat pastry chef Mayme Gretsch, and you’ve got one of the most delightful, satisfying rotating menus of any new spot in Nashville — Italian or otherwise
