Unlike the notorious “Exit/In Standard Time,” in which the headliner doesn’t even get off the bus until 11 p.m. despite a 9 p.m. show time, at City Winery, 8 p.m. means the downbeat hits at 7:59. You can arrive two hours early and enjoy a pre-show meal or show up five minutes before the first note and still go straight to your seat like a dignified human being. Somehow, standing up for two hours before a show to claim some floor space just doesn’t have the same charm it once did.
