Every year, Saint Nicky’s gets a little jollier. It started with thousands of lights, classic Christmas movies projected on a screen, a snowy toy train and a few cocktails. But every year, the team at Nicky’s Coal Fired ups the ante, most recently covering the walls in “tacky” (but actually kind of fabulous) holiday sweaters sourced from Goodwills in the greater Chicago area. Add frozen eggnog, their usual delicious food and an incessant loop of crappy Hallmark movies? There’s no spot more seasonal. And here’s an early Christmas present: Show up at 4 p.m. and you can beat the lines.
