If chicken is your thing, it’s hard to beat the Chicken Hai Nam rice bowl at East Side Pho. It features a generous helping of poached chicken meat, chicken-fat jasmine rice, crispy bits of fried chicken skin, pickled red onion, a divine sesame-ginger-soy dipping sauce and a side of bone broth. I’ve eaten it nearly once a week since I discovered it. And vegetarians, check out the fabulous Veggie Bun Rieu Soup, featuring Impossible meatballs, mushrooms, tofu, tomatoes, rice noodles and tamarind broth with traditional garnishes.
