Opened in a former Sir Pizza location in Madison nearly one year ago, restaurant vet Don Hernandez’s Pinky Ring Pizza swiftly joined the ranks of Nashville’s best locally owned pizza spots. It features an extensive beer and nonalcoholic drink selection, great salads and a first-rate lineup of small bites — don’t sleep on that garlic focaccia, one of the tastiest garlic-bread options in town. But most obviously and most importantly, Pinky Ring has an all-killer-no-filler selection of pies, from classic options like pepperoni, Supreme and a New York-inspired classic cheese to inventive selections including the Esmerelda (made with lamb and a pistachio-pesto base), the Pickle (with ricotta, Calabrian chilis and, yes, dill pickles) and the protein-loaded Meat Sweats. Naturally, you can make additions or do half-and-half options. Whatever you go with, you can’t go wrong.
