Like many musicians, Alex Bice did a career pivot when the pandemic quashed his touring schedule. Bice started digging in the dirt, and by 2021 he turned his hobby of gardening into Cooper Creek Farm, a commercial biodiverse operation, growing food without tilling and without chemicals. The Inglewood farmer’s bounty is available through a CSA program, and its unattended farmstand at 1209 McAlpine Ave. is a joy. Stop by and pick out flowers, seasonal vegetables and herbs (either on the shelves or in a cooler), and then pay what you can via Venmo. (If you can’t afford to pay anything, that’s OK too.) You never know what you’re going to get, but you know it will be good and hyper-local.
