Each track on Molly Martin’s debut album Mary shows promise, but perhaps none more so than the record’s closer. “I Know You Think That It’s Not You” takes aim at a source of every young female musician’s fear: men who exploit new artists while denying their part in the larger problem. It’s really every woman’s fear, and Martin burns her way through the grating lyrics with a rage that’s all too familiar. She makes one thing crystal clear: She’s not going anywhere but up.
