G.U.N.’s frenetic first album was recorded four years ago, but didn’t hit shelves until this summer. Since the group previously released a highly praised demo and a raging live cassette, there was already a lot of anticipation. But the LP, brought to you by Raleigh, N.C.’s mighty Sorry State Records, is even better than fans expected: It’s an ode to the first wave of American hardcore, without sounding like a facsimile. Crafting a style all their own, G.U.N. still scrapes the same raw nerves as their predecessors.
