May 2021 was a precarious time for the DIY music scene: The pandemic was waning, but there were no guarantees that the music scene was going to bounce back to its 2019 glory. People had moved on, found new hobbies, grown out of the scene. With Inoxia Vol. 2, editor Megan Loveless — who’s also co-founder of To-Go Records and is The Blue Room’s talent buyer, and who worked with a cadre of volunteer writers and photographers for this magazine — captured a rebuilding period in the DIY scene, as local artists like Snooper, $avvy and Bats attempted to find their footing post-lockdown. Lovingly designed by Third Man Records designer Sarah Goldstein, Inoxia is a worthy time capsule for the local scene.
