It’s been a few years since Far Out Fest last graced The East Room’s stage. In 2020, when the world shut down, Far Out carried on with a virtual edition of its psychedelia-themed music, art and film festival. Their late-night public-access fever dream was such a success that they ran it again back in 2021. Three years after pivoting to virtual reality (including a one-year hiatus), co-founder Bunny Ames brought Far Out back to its Before Times freaky glory, taking the best parts of the fest’s long history and dragging them into the physical world. You know — like Videodrome, except a little less gooey.
