It’s just three blocks north of Broadway, and 10 stories up, but the rooftop of the Bobby Nashville hotel feels worlds away from the neon-lit bars where you might hear “Watermelon Sugar” or “Tennessee Whiskey” multiple times in one evening. The rooftop of the hotel — yes, the one that has seating inside a 1956 bus — has quietly been building an impressive lineup of singer-songwriters, indie musicians and others who are playing music you’re not hearing on Lower Broad. Acts for the 2023 Backyard Sessions series included Baby Rose, Jill Andrews and Bailey Bryan. Admission is free, the audience is 21 and older, and the vibe is pure Music City.
