The couple bought Thomas Drugs, a 1915 pharmacy and soda fountain counter, in 2022. Sarah fills locals’ prescriptions while Jeremy oversees the reborn lunch counter menu of homemade chicken salad and pimento cheese, burgers and milkshakes. He refers to the pair as “stewards” of the building, still using a 1950s carbonation machine and old-timey, friendly service to make the business a throwback as refreshing as their signature salted lemonade.
