A roast beef sandwich and a packet of chips at The Food Company

The Food Company

Best Nashville Classic in 2026: The Food Company

Good chicken salad is hard to find. Between questionable chicken quality and the terrorists who insist on adding grapes or apples to their versions, we need to get back to basics. Thankfully, The Food Company’s Tarragon Almond Chicken Salad is as good today as it was when they opened in the ’90s. Thanks to the artichoke spread, the case of readymade soups, sides and casseroles, and the indisputable best fruit tea in town, I now find myself trying to invent a reason to brave the godforsaken Green Hills traffic just to get my fix.
