Best Showstopping Take-Home Dessert in Nashville 2026: City House’s Cakes
City House is venerated for good reason — and a major one is Rebekah Turshen. Until my second pregnancy, it never occurred to me to just order a whole-ass cake every time Turshen offers one, but I am yet to let a piece go to waste. On Mother’s Day, it was a sweet, juicy strawberry cake, which I bought — and ate most of — myself. In July, it was a ripe, creamy peach cake that people fought over at a party. (The winner of the leftovers ate her piece for breakfast the next day while hiding from her kids.) Up next: the always-on, six-layer Tennessee Waltz Cake.
