You can tell a deli has hit its mark if it already has a collection of regulars just a few weeks after opening. Waiting in line at Jack’s Deli in Donelson during lunch hour, I saw the owner greet quite a few customers by name. Watching the orders come out, it’s easy to see why there’s a strong following. Each dish will make your tongue roll out of your mouth like a red carpet, cartoon style. With meats smoked on the front patio, you can see (not to mention smell) your pastrami go straight from the smoker to the rye, right on the mark.
