Jennifer Latham previously worked as director of bread at renowned California bakery Tartine — so when she opened Mama Bread, I expected the bread to be good. I particularly love the seasonal savory pastries. The olive bread has become my go-to dinner party contribution. And I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how Mama Bread has become an East Nashville hangout. I love walking in and seeing people playing chess in the back, catching up with friends and reading from physical books. I see everyone from toddlers to senior citizens, including neighborhood kids who walk over, armed with a list of baked goods to take home.
