Best Kissa in Nashville 2026: Groceries Etc.

Over the past few years, the Japanese-style listening room (or kissa) has taken Nashville by storm: Sean Brock’s Bar Continental, downtown sushi bar 888, and Second Avenue newcomer Vinyl Vault have all boasted audiophile acoustics and eclectic analog sounds to sip cocktails to. But it’s the attic above Mama Bread in East Nashville that offers the coziest listening-room/house-party experience. Groceries Etc. embraces the romance of vinyl while avoiding the preciousness that often comes along with it. In a single sitting, I heard Radiohead, Wu-Tang Clan and Car Seat Headrest while drinking an array of well-made, unfussy cocktails. It’s a space that feels like vinyl sounds: warm and crackling.
