Cristina Spinei honed her skills at the Juilliard School of Music, studying with Pulitzer-winning composer Christopher Rouse. Sensing opportunity, she relocated to Nashville a few years ago and quickly established herself as a go-to composer. Nashville’s red-hot contemporary dance collective New Dialect tapped her to write music for its recent TPAC debut, and Nashville Ballet also engaged her to write new music. Dance companies love the rhythmic vitality of her scores. Audiences love the lyricism. She’s the real deal, so we’ll be hearing much more from her. JOHN PITCHER
