Where would Bugs Bunny have been without the music of Georges Bizet’s Carmen? And where would we have been without Ginger Costa-Jackson, the mezzo soprano who played the red-hot gypsy seductress in Nashville Opera’s recent production? Costa-Jackson fully inhabited the opera stage’s most famous character, bringing out both her sensuality and vulnerability. Tenor Noah Stewart was equally effective as the hyper-jealous Don Jose.
