The Nashville Symphony gave its long-awaited maiden performance of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring inside the Schermerhorn last season. Initially, the NSO planned to perform the piece at the Schermerhorn for the first time in 2010, but the devastating flood intervened that year. Turns out some things are worth waiting for, since the NSO’s Stravinsky performance in February had enough primal energy to satisfy even the most demanding classical aficionados. JOHN PITCHER
