And lo, in the year of our lord 2016, the owners of Five Daughters Bakery unleashed a dessert monster upon Middle Tennessee, combining sweet, flaky doughnuts with homemade ice cream into a dessert worthy of Dr. Moreau. Gaze upon their works and despair! The Ice Cream Doughnut takes a brioche doughnut and combines it with chocolate ganache, sprinkles and a rotating cast of specially made ice cream for a pastry that’s warm on the outside and cold on the inside, staving off brain freeze while zapping your sweet tooth with eldritch sugary goodness.
