Putting the word “biscuit” in the name of your breakfast place in Nashville is like stepping to the plate in a baseball game, pointing out to left field and calling your shot — you damn well better be good enough to pull it off. Fortunately, Biscuit Love is. If Karl and Sarah Worley’s only menu item were the East Nasty, a biscuit adorned with a fried chicken thigh, aged cheddar and sausage gravy, it would be impressive. But they’ve got the breakfast classics covered, along with something I never expected to love, a biscuit burger. It’s no wonder that Biscuit Love has the kind of long lines usually reserved for such warhorses as Pancake Pantry and Loveless Cafe. If all goes well, you’ll see Biscuit Loves sprouting up around town, including soon in Hillsboro Village at the site of the old Sunset Grill. STEVE CAVENDISH
