It may sound like Happy Hour by another name, but Lockeland Table’s Community Hour — from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday — earns its fancy moniker. Yes, there are some very enticing $6 cocktails, but the Community Hour food options are a step up from your typical options: Highlights include a plate of three exceptionally tasty Korean-style beef tacos, deviled eggs with chowchow, house-made Boursin-stuffed Peppadews and a scrumptious “NY Cheese” pizza, all $6 apiece. Two adults can easily make a meal of two or three $6 items (particularly if one is the pizza, which it always should be), and for families, there’s a kids’ menu, with grilled cheese, chicken tenders, pizzas and a variety of $2 sides. But what really puts the “community” in Community Hour is that a portion of the proceeds benefits the PTO at the elementary school just a block away, Lockeland Design Center. JACK SILVERMAN
