Best Moving Target

The only downside to Ivonne and Fidel Vasquez’s Venezuelan eatery is that you can’t eat their outstanding arepas any time your heart desires. And it doesn’t take long to get hooked on their sandwich, a slightly sweet cornmeal patty fried till it’s firm on the outside, split and stuffed to overflowing with beans, cheese and your choice of meat and sauces — all for the same price as a Bonnaroo arepa, which is more like a cornmeal grilled cheese. Currently, you can only be sure to find them in the Grow Local Kitchen at the Nashville Farmers’ Market on the third weekend of every month (or wherever else their Facebook page tells you they’re serving lunch). But the Vasquezes say they’re in the process of building out a food truck, so with luck they’ll be headed to a corner near you very soon. STEPHEN TRAGESER
