Best Taproom Evolution

When Blackstone announced the sudden closing of its iconic West End location, our heavy, hungry hearts were provided some comforts. First, we were assured the closing wasn’t permanent, and the brewpub would return shortly following some much-needed renovations. Also, Blackstone would be taking the time to open a proper taproom. That’s right, Nashville’s oldest and most decorated craft brewery would finally have a separate destination dedicated to their lineup. Located within their Clifton Avenue brewing facility west of downtown, Blackstone’s newest concept is now open to the public and a well-deserved tribute two decades in the making. Located directly inside the brewery, the bar gives patrons a brewer’s-eye view of the operation inside a cozy, midsized tasting room. The space allows Blackstone wiggle room to showcase their award-winning flagships as well as delicious newcomers like the Dark Matter Black and Session Player IPAs. It may be 20 years past due, but Blackstone’s latest evolution is a welcome addition to a growing beer scene from one of its most esteemed figureheads. MATT FOX
