Nashville Shakespeare Festival

One of the great gifts of Shakespeare’s work is its ability to transcend time and place. That was certainly apparent with Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s delightful production of Much Ado About Nothing. Set in 1973 Nashville, this clever adaptation capitalized on timeless themes of peace, love and understanding, while delivering big laughs and funky styles of the era. Director Denice Hicks pulled together a marvelous cast, featuring both new and familiar faces. And singer-songwriter Larysa Jaye — who not only served as music director, but also took on the role of Balthasar — led a terrific band of musicians.
