I’m a lover of film, physical media and communal experiences, and so there was nothing quite like basking in the glow of the 70mm print of Christopher Nolan’s epic biographical thriller Oppenheimer alongside a packed theater full of excited moviegoers this summer at the Regal Opry Mills IMAX. With the equipment rumored to have been upgraded by the Oscar-nominated director himself, the theater was one of only 30 worldwide capable of screening the film in its intended format. The projectionists and employees at Regal Opry Mills deserve a round of applause.
