Lucinda Williams and Margo Price have plenty in common: a penchant for poets on motorcycles, a hard-fought music career with some downright wild twists, and the fact that they both got where they are today mostly on their own terms. Both released memoirs in the past year that were full of refreshing honesty, detailing some of the similarities above and more. The writing in each is engaging, and the storytelling spectacular. Williams’ story, of course, spans more time and goes a little wider than Nashville, while Price gets us a little closer to home — Murfreesboro references and all.
