Nashville Hot Summer had one of the best exhibition titles of the year, and the show lived up to its dog days title by lighting the fuse of the city’s warm-weather art season back in June. The show featured 11 international artists and 22 paintings on identical 16-by-20-inch canvases, and the results couldn’t have been more varied or viewable. Nashville Hot Summer was emblematic of Red Arrow’s central mission of representing and curating excellent painters. It was also one of the rarest kinds of displays: a consistently sophisticated show with something for everyone.
