In The Great Charlotte Pike Pho Down, I will go to my grave fighting for Kien Giang. Their clear, fragrant broth is the ideal mix of sweet and salty, and it is consistently great, which can’t be said of every pho place in town. They have surprisingly good fried rice, the crunchiest egg rolls in town, and their bún bò huế — spicy beef noodle soup that I believe includes pig’s blood — is diabolical yet delicious (and will tear through a white girl post-haste). Plus you know it’s authentic because the server laughs at me every time I order it. ASHLEY BRANTLEY
