If you live south of I-40, the biggest impediment to eating at the original Prince’s location isn’t the melt-your-face-off heat — it’s the schlep up Dickerson Pike. After years of watching others move in on Prince’s hot-chicken block, André Prince Jeffries finally relented, and now there’s a second location near the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Nolensville Road. It took most of last fall to shake everything out, but now things are running smoothly, and you can get the OG hot chicken conveniently in the southern half of the city. The addition of TVs, beer taps and menu items like chicken tenders have proved to be crowd-pleasers. STEVE CAVENDISH
