Among Nashville’s many great Mediterranean restaurants, Epice stands out by making its Lebanese cuisine elegant as well as delicious. Falafel is dressed with pistachios; al-raheb, a puree of eggplant, is garnished with pomegranate seeds. Fish, lamb and beef are presented as gorgeous plated entrées accompanied by complex salads instead of being stuffed in a pita. A thoughtful cocktail and wine list as well as a sleek and stylish interior also contribute to a dining experience far above and beyond a standard kebab joint. LESLEY LASSITER
