The churrasco at Subculture Urban Cuisine and Cafe is the city’s finest sandwich because of the ingredients, but the construction of it plays no small part in its success. From the bottom: A soft bun is topped by tomato slices, chunks of rare marinated Argentine-style beef that’s been grilled, a runny egg and avocado, then the top bun, which is smeared with aioli. Every bite has balance, and while the beef is the star, it’s complemented by distinct flavors. You may get lucky and find its equal, but never its superior. STEVE CAVENDISH
