The past calendar year saw a slew of heartbreaking closings. Cochon Butcher ended its run as one of the city’s best sandwich shops (@ me all you want — their turkey-avocado with basil mayo was Mitchell Deli’s only real competition). Eastern European comfort food spot Kuchnia & Keller shuttered just months after, and now I have a würzfleisch-shaped hole in my heart where the cheese and gravy used to be. Lulu, Jackson’s, Bajo Sexto West — the longer the line gets outside FGL House’s “Sundaze Brunch,” the longer the sad list of losses grows. Be part of the solution, Nashville. ASHLEY BRANTLEY
