Allow us to play amateur architecture critic for a second. One of the things we hate about the new 12South is that most of the new buildings are pretty bland, but not Christie Cookies’ new store next to Reese Witherspoon’s precious Draper James. Instead of being whitewashed or mural-ed, it is FIRE-ENGINE RED. It screams “I’m a little different” as you’re walking by, like a pinch of cayenne in a chocolate chunk cookie (a favorite special from last year). Delicious. STEVE CAVENDISH
