I’m not gonna lie: There was a fair amount of trepidation when beloved South Nashville dive bar Twin Kegs changed hands last year. But what new owner Tia Rose Mirenda, a former Twin Kegs bartender turned food truck operator, has done is keep the beloved parts and add a phenomenal bar menu to the place. The Keg Burger is still one of the best in town, but now there’s stuff like a Breakfast Burger — American cheese, bacon, egg and a tomato, without a bun — and a Mushroom Bacon Swiss Burger that’s to die for (literally, if you eat too many of them). The beer menu’s got more local craft brews on it now, but you can still get cheap longnecks to drink while playing shuffleboard. STEVE CAVENDISH
