Best Westward Expansion

Five Points Pizza’s flagship location on Woodland Street is an East Nashville standby — partially for its barfly-friendly hours, but primarily because its New York-style pies are simply a cut above. (Gotta love those garlic knots, too.) But before 5PP opened its second location on Charlotte Pike in May, the ’za situation in West Nashville had been uninspiring at best and dire at worst, with a smattering of chain or chain-like places known to suffice in a pinch but never entirely satisfy. Thanks, Five Points Pizza — problem solved! (Now ... how to get a Dino’s burger or Duke’s Italian without having to cross the river.) CHARLIE ZAILLIAN
