Resident DJs Case Bloom and Nick “DJ Rate” Melidis have built a vinyl-scratching behemoth with Boom Bap, a last-Saturday monthly series that brings in world-renowned guest DJs for the city’s best hip-hop experience. Maybe more impressive is their expansion of the Boom Bap brand into Miami and Philadelphia chapters, a reminder to outsiders of Nashville’s tastemaker status in an unlikely niche.
