In an age when it’s easy to avoid the challenge of producing dusty classics, the Rep dove head-first into Oscar Wilde’s greatest script with engrossing and beautiful sets, stylish period costumes, shimmering high-tech lighting and top-notch performances by seasoned professionals. Wilde’s witty barbs concerning manners and mores sounded as fresh as ever in the hands of director René Copeland’s exceptionally poised cast, featuring some of Middle Tennessee’s finest thespians — including accomplished leading ladies Emily Landham and Marin Miller and character actors Rona Carter, Denice Hicks, Brian Webb Russell and Bobby Wyckoff.
