Wedged between performance seasons, Symphony Under the Stars is an opportunity for NSO fans and curious joggers alike to experience Nashville Grammy-winning symphony orchestra for free in the comfort of their own backyards. Pop culture scores and John Williams ad nauseam may have defined the series in previous years, but the 2014 bill stepped up and featured what the Nashville Symphony does best: their classical repertoire. Works from Bartok, Copland and others molded the weeklong stint into a proper sampler of our city’s most prized possession and the music that defines it.
