12 Hours of Terror

Best Movie Marathon in Nashville 2026: The Belcourt’s 12 Hours of Terror

For horror movie fans in Nashville, there is nothing — and I mean nothing — quite like the annual 12 Hours of Terror marathon at the Belcourt. There’s a palpable, chaotic energy surrounding the kickoff every year, when the perennially sold-out crowd sits down in one of the Belcourt’s auditoriums at 10 p.m., preparing for seven consecutive horror films that will screen over the course of the night and into the following morning. The films are a mystery every year right up until showtime, but the team behind the event always does an incredible job at delivering on some big surprises. From restorations of beloved thrillers to grainy film prints of twisted and unknown genre relics, 12 Hours often has it all. The 2024 marathon being bookended with 35 mm prints of Final Destination 2 and 2005’s House of Wax made for a rowdy theatrical experience that I’ll never forget.
