Sitting on Murphy Road near that street’s intersection with West End Avenue, and overlooking Interstate 440, the two-building Parke West is an appropriate development for its site. The structures’ scale, appearance and usage suggest both a cohesive symmetry and an interesting independence and differentiation. Though unlike in exterior materials and color, the two towers — one a hotel and the other a residential building — play nicely off each other. Brentwood development company GBT Realty faced some stiff opposition from neighbors but ultimately charged forward and delivered a quality project that, in theory at least, has elevated the value of the residences located near it.
