As she heads off to compete at Ole Miss this fall, Brentwood Academy’s Mensi Stiff leaves behind a trail of destruction through the Tennessee track and field record books. Since breaking a pair of 37-year-old records in 2021, the discus and shot put star has only been chasing herself. Stiff became the first athlete in state history to be named the Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year three times, and she became the first Tennessean to earn first-team All-American status from Track and Field News. In total, she won nine state championships while at Brentwood Academy. It will be a long time before anyone surpasses Stiff’s marks.
