Coming into this year’s game against the No. 6 ranked Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt  basketball fans were likely expecting another loss. Given the two straight years of losses to Tennessee, it wasn’t unwarranted. But this year was different. The game was tightly contested through 40 minutes of play, coming down to one final shot. Due to some timely missed free throws by Tennessee, Vanderbilt ended up with the ball with 4.8 seconds left on the clock. The ’Dores pushed the pace down the court until the ball ended up in the hands of Tyrin Lawrence in the corner. Lawrence rose up and sank the three, sending Tennessee back to Knoxville with their first loss against the Commodores in two years — and giving Vanderbilt fans an unforgettable night.
