Best Slasher Play

Not every season requires a slasher play, but Alison Moore’s darkly humorous, socially provocative, extended one-acter was just the thing for so-inclined theatergoers. Presented by Verge Theater Company in a subterranean locale (East Nashville’s Main House) with an alternative ambience and limited seating options, this bizarre piece, directed by Nettie Kraft, featured strong players like Tamara Todres and Ashley Glore and a uniquely confrontational vibe that mixed feminism and sleaze merchantry with B-movie horror.
