Whether you judge by volume or quality of whiskey selections, Gertie’s Bar on the ground floor of the 404 Kitchen in the Gulch wins by a country mile. Chef Matt Bolus has curated a collection of hundreds of different whiskeys from around the globe that line the backlit shelves stretching from wall to wall behind the bar. Bolus has developed relationships with some of Kentucky’s top distillers, allowing him to buy exclusive single barrels of the best corn likker, to be sold exclusively at Gertie’s.
