Ellington’s, the stylish Art Deco-inspired restaurant on the fourth floor of the Fairlane Hotel, is the perfect spot for post-work drinks or pre-show cheers-ing, thanks to a killer happy hour offered daily from 3 to 6 p.m. All of their cocktails — a satisfying mix of classics, like gimlets, mules and Old Fashioneds, and inventive craft concoctions — are two-for-one, and there are additional specials on beer and wine. Not to mention, all of their appetizers are just five bucks. (I have dreams about those cheese curds with the homemade Greek goddess dressing.) And best of all, they’ll validate your valet parking and even let you leave your car at the hotel if you’re headed to a show at TPAC. Now that’s a very happy hour indeed. NANCY FLOYD
