Best New Site for Hot Chicken

Whether it’s hot chicken or catfish (my preference), Big Shake’s Nashville Hot Chicken & Fish offers some of the best offerings in either category. In addition to larger pieces of chicken, tenders are available, and there’s shrimp and whiting in addition to the catfish. They’re already a fixture in Franklin and in Huntsville, Ala.; and they’ve had this new site in Goodlettsville (at 720 Rivergate Parkway) for about six months. The sides are excellent as well, particularly the collard greens, and they offer a variety of desserts. Prices are very reasonable, the service both friendly and fast-paced, and if you enjoy soul, R&B and funk, the music’s right up your alley. Despite the city’s abundance of chicken and fish places, Big Shake’s is a very worthy newcomer. RON WYNN
