Best Pastry Pop-Up

In honor of Mental Health Month in May, Scene contributor and expert on all things sweet Megan Seling decided to organize a local version of a London-based fundraiser called the Depressed Cake Shop. The pop-up — which took place at East Nashville’s Anaconda Vintage — featured all sorts of baked goods and desserts that are decorated in colors of gray, black or silver. But just because something looks drab on the exterior doesn’t mean it can’t be fabulous inside. Seling organized an amazing array of local pastry talent to participate in the one-day event, including James Beard nominee Lisa Marie White of Marsh House and Rebekah Turshen of City House, and all the treats sold out in no time, raising more than $1,200 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness Tennessee!
