Best Olive Branch/Sign of Food Community

There are good ways to close a restaurant, and there are bad ways to do it. The owners of SoBro favorite Flyte got it “ryte” when they announced, with a month’s notice, that they were taking the opportunity to buy their way out of their lease before mounting rents forced them to make drastic steps to keep up with costs. This allowed them to celebrate almost 15 years as a local cradle of chefs instead of bemoaning the shuttering. In a final bout of lovely kismet, Red Pebbles Hospitality (the team behind the 404 Kitchen, Emmy Squared and other Nashville restaurants) offered the entire Flyte staff new positions at their same or increased pay rates after the final service. We love it when a plan comes together! CHRIS CHAMBERLAIN
